There are two more unique attractions possibly coming to Chestnut Mountain!

Interest has been expressed for developing a snow tubing attraction on Chestnut Mountain.
A similar facility in Indiana attracts 80,000 visitors in a 2-1/2 month season and employs
over 130 people.

We can do this in Knott County and we have the perfect hillside to do it at the
Chestnut Mountain Development.
|
|
|
|
Using state-of-the-art technology that will enable us to make snow in 60 and 70 degree temperatures, it is hoped to expand to a 5-month season from October - March, geting a jump on the competition and capitalizing on getting a jump on the competition and capitalizing on the thousands of people coming to the Sportsplex to participate in both basketball and volleyball tournaments through the Fall and Winter months.

Also being considered is a man-made recirculating white water attraction similar to what has been developed at Wisp near McHenry, Maryland. (see photos below)

This would be an excellent complement to the Snow Tubing with their primary seasons being the
Spring, Summer and early Fall.
